SNAFU (prototype complete 2023-01-25)
Sanfu is a working name subject to change
Mode based heavily on the 1981 game “Snafu” which was a simple 2D local multiplayer snake game
Will emulate the main game mode but in 3D with “modern” changes
Free-for-all / no teams
Each player runs through the map with a trace behind them
Players may not touch their own trace nor other players' trace.
Player is eliminated from round and spectates when a "major" collision with any trace occurs (will lose all health after ~2 seconds of contact)
On elimination the both the player and the player’s trace is remove from the map, thus freeing up space for remaining players to navigate
Last player left wins.(may change this later to player with longest trace before elimination wins, which is usually will be the last player left)
Game will "force" all players to keep moving. Standing still or slow movement will be punished will quick health loss.
Double-Cross (idea)
Double-Cross is a working name subject to change
Same as SNAFU mode except the following
Players can touch and walk on top on their own trace (color)
Each player will be assigned a identifying color and start out initially on their own team of 1 as solos
During the match players may acquire pickups(?) that allows them to switch their trace color to be the same as another player
These players will now be considered on the same team and be allowed to interact with each other’s traces. The player that switched teams can no longer interact with their old color
At anytime a player that is on a team could switch teams to another color or back to their original color
You can only interact with trace’s that are your current color
There can only be 1 winner. If only one team remains, those players will be reassigned new solo teams
Trace’s may or may not disappear upon elimination. TBD

TBD some sort of 4v4 form the start of match
